COMBATING ILLEGAL BARRIERS: THE PRIME MINISTER HONORS SIX DESERVING OFFICIALS
Following the phase of sanctions against officials who acted improperly, it is now time for recognition. Six government officials received certificates of commendation from Prime Minister and Head of Government Félix MOLOUA.
The formal ceremony took place in the lobby of the Prime Minister’s Office, in the presence of the Minister of Transportation and Civil Aviation, Mr. Djono AHABA Gontran; the Minister of Public Security and the Interior, Mr. Bienvenu ZOKOUE; members of the cabinet; and officials from the Mobile Brigade for the Dismantling of Illegal Roadblocks.
A total of six recipients—including Customs Office Chiefs, Police Commissioners, Sub-Prefects, and Deputy Mayors from the towns of Bambari, Beloko, and Berberati—were honored for their exemplary conduct. These sons of the nation acted with rigor and patriotism, in accordance with the Republic’s instructions and in strict compliance with the law.
These officers distinguished themselves particularly in the implementation of the decree establishing penalties for offenses related to illegal roadblocks.
Presenting the results of the operation, the coordinator of the Mobile Brigade reported convincing results: 170 illegal roadblocks dismantled throughout the territory, and several corrupt officers apprehended, arrested, brought to justice, and sentenced to 8 months in prison.
This decisive action by the government has contributed significantly to two major objectives:
1. Ensuring the free movement of people and goods, subject only to legal and regulatory barriers.
2. To replenish the state’s coffers through a substantial increase in tax and customs revenues.
This strategic measure, implemented on the instructions of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, aims to secure state revenues in order to sustainably improve the living conditions of the population.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Félix MOLOUA reiterated that this initiative has the full support and encouragement of the President of the Republic, Prof. Faustin Archange TOUADERA, who has called for its intensification throughout the entire national territory.
This sends a strong signal that impunity is over and that merit will henceforth be recognized and rewarded in the Central African Republic.
