Le Premier ministre, chef du gouvernement, M. Félix Moloua, a reçu ce matin le représentant du Fonds des Nations-Unies pour la population (UNFPA) en Centrafrique M. Victor RAKOTO, dans le cadre d’une série d’échanges visant à renforcer les programmes de santé reproductive et de planification familiale dans le pays.
L’objectif de cette rencontre était de faire le point sur les projets en cours appuyés par l’UNFPA, d’ identifier de nouvelles pistes de mobilisation de ressources pour le prochain cycle de financement du Plan national de Développement, et de renforcer la coordination entre le gouvernement et les partenaires multilatéraux afin de stabiliser la prise en charge des victimes du VBG.
Le Premier ministre a souligné l’importance de la lutte contre l’immortalité infantile comme levier essentiel pour la stabilité du pays. De son côté, le représentant de l’UNFPA a rappelé que la santé reproductive est un droit humain fondamental et un moteur de développement durable. Les deux personnalités ont également évoqué la nécessité d’intégrer les questions de population dans les stratégies de sécurité et de reconstruction postconflit.
DECISIVE MEETING BETWEEN PRIME MINISTER FÉLIX MOLOUA AND THE UNFPA REPRÉSENTATIVE IN TH CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC
The Prime Minister, head of government, Mr. FélixMoloua, received this morning the representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in the Central African Republic, Mr. Victor RAKOTO, as part of a series of exchanges aimed at strengthening reproductive health and family planning programs in the country.
The objectives of this meeting were to take stock of current projects supported by UNFPA, to identify new avenues for mobilizing resources for the next financing cycle of the National Development Plan, and to strengthen coordination between the government andmultilateral partners in order to stabilize the care of victims of GBV.
The Prime Minister underlined the importance of the fight against child immortality as an essential lever for the stability of the country. For his part, the UNFPA representative recalled that reproductive health is a fundamental human right and a driver of sustainable development. The two personalities also discussed the need to integrate population issues into security and post-conflict reconstruction strategies.
