‎OPENING OF THE FAMILY PLANNING FORUM IN BANGUI

‎

‎The opening ceremony of the 1st National Family Planning Forum took place on April 22 in Bangui in the main conference hall of the Ledger Plaza.

‎

‎Held under the patronage of the presidential couple, this forum—the first in the history of the independent Central African Republic—brought together numerous national and international figures, including Prime Minister and Head of Government Mr. Félix MOLOUA.

‎

‎It is widely acknowledged that many maternal deaths in the Central African Republic result from a lack of birth spacing. Hence the need to plan births in every household.

‎

‎During his inaugural address, the President of the Republic placed particular emphasis on the fight against maternal mortality among girls and women in the Central African Republic. “Women must no longer lose their lives when they give life…” he declared before the Central African people. He pledged to support Central African women in this fight for family planning.

‎

‎The Central African government is already allocating more than 1 billion CFA francs to the purchase and distribution of condoms.

‎

‎The organization of this first forum by the “Cri de coeur d’une mère” Foundation contributes to this national effort to combat maternal mortality.

‎A move welcomed by the Head of State, who, in his opening remarks, noted that “family planning is no longer just a public health issue, but also a key component of the fight against poverty, a factor in sustainable development… and a means of achieving the third Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).”

‎

‎The forum, which began today, is scheduled to run through April 23 and includes workshops, panel discussions, and conferences, following which numerous resolutions will be adopted.

BELOW IS THE ENGLISH VERSION

PRIME MINISTER PARTICIPATED IN THE KWA TI KODRO OPERATION ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 14, IN THE 7TH ARRONDISSEMENT

As he does every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., Prime Minister and Head of Government Félix MOLOUA took part today in the citizen-led operation to combat unsanitary conditions, commonly known as KWA TI KODRO, in the 7th arrondissement. He joined the men, women, and young people who had turned out en masse at the initiative of Mr. Clément NDOTIZO to weed the main avenue leading to the État des Rapides and Pie XII high schools.

The Head of Government then visited the local headquarters of the Mouvement des Cœurs Unis (MCU) party in the district, where the Wali Kpo Soussou association had organized a meeting to review its activities. The association was created last year when the Prime Minister took the initiative to give 50,000 CFA francs to about 20 women. They multiplied the money by undertaking various income-generating activities. A year later, these activities have borne fruit, which is a source of great joy for the Prime Minister.

He encouraged the women of the MCU to continue what they had started. He expressed his hope that the initiative could be replicated throughout the country in order to lift the Central African population out of poverty.

BELOW IS THE ENGLISH VERSION

THE COUNTRY MANAGER OF THE AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK (AfDB) HAS BEEN PROMOTED TO THE RANK OF COMMANDER IN THE CENTRAL AFRICAN NATIONAL ORDER OF MERIT.

After five years as Country Manager for the African Development Bank (AfDB) and having reached the end of his stay in the Central African Republic, Mr. Mamady Souare was exceptionally promoted to the rank of Commander in the National Order of Merit of the Central African Republic on October 2, 2025. The ceremony took place in the hall of the Prime Minister’s Office and was presided over by the Prime Minister, Head of Government Mr. Félix MOLOUA, who was accompanied by the Minister of Finance and Budget, Mr. Hervé NDOBA.

In the presence of several ambassadors accredited to the Central African Republic, heads of diplomatic missions, members of the Prime Minister’s office, and staff from the AfDB country team, the Prime Minister presented the Commander’s tie to Mr. SOUARE, who has worked tirelessly to implement numerous sustainable infrastructure construction projects in the Central African Republic.

Speaking during the ceremony, the outgoing AfDB country manager thanked the Central African authorities for this honorary distinction and took the opportunity to recall the beginning of his love for the Central African Republic, which dates back to his student years when he first encountered René MARAN’s novel BATOUALA. Upon arriving on the banks of the Oubangui River, the African Development Bank’s country manager worked tirelessly to revive the Central African Republic after the sad and dark period of unrest in 2013. Now at the end of his mission, he is leaving Bangui to take up his new assignment, where he will continue to work for the country through the design and implementation of regional projects in Africa. “The story between the CAR and me is not over. Because where I am going, I will continue to write the story of my love for the CAR… through regional projects and programs,” concluded Mamady Souare, who received a beautiful symbolic painting of the map of the CAR from the Head of Government as a token of gratitude for all his services to the country.

As a reminder, Mr. SOUARE’s mission has enabled the Central African Republic to see its portfolio grow to include several projects and programs, the best known of which is Corridor 13, which is currently in the implementation phase.
